What ages does The First Tee instruct?
The First Tee teaches participants in grades 6 through 11.

Who are the instructors?
Generally there is a PGA professional as well as a The First Tee coach at each session.

What is the cost?
There is a one-time fee of $50.00 that covers all classes.

Are classes canceled because of weather?
We hardly ever cancel classes due to weather, but in case of inclement weather, we will know prior to the class starting.

How long are your classes?
Typically 1 1/4 hours per week, for a period of 6 weeks.

What if I don't have any golf clubs?
Clubs can be furnished at no charge for all classes.

Where do the classes take place?
At the Grand View Golf Course, 2400 E. 29th Street, Des Moines, IA

Can private instruction be provided?

Are classes available elsewhere?
Yes, classes are also available with our affiliates at Waveland GC and A. H. Blank GC.

Can a child stay involved with the program year after year?
Yes, since life and golf skills are learned over a lifetime, juniors will learn interpersonal, self management, goal setting, and resistance skills as they advance through The First Tee certification levels of Par, Birdie, Eagle, and Champions.
